After partnering with indie developers Golden Gear Games in 2012, Christine Love, the author of the novel Analogue: A Hate Story, shared her creation with gaming fans all over the world. As this game is not for everyone, but it is quite enjoyable if you are in for mere “interactive fiction”. If you are expecting any action, this game is probably not for you, but if you like reading journals and dozens of complex pages left from the dead crew with an occasional note, you are in for a treat!
What to Expect:
This dark visual novel-game will provide you not only with game-like experience, but you will definitely get invested in reading every page of narratives that Christine Love has prepared. You will find out that in 25th century, Earth launched a ship into space to establish the first interstellar colony, but the ship lost contact with Earth and was lost. With never reaching its final destination, the crew was found dead after thousands of years and after formed another civilization. You will find bizarre and exciting dead crew’s logs with a little help from AI sidekick and get a choice of 5 different endings. Uncover secrets and information from a lost spaceship, resolving puzzles and challenges. Through a variety of mini games, you will have a feeling of interacting with an old ship’s interface, while it is going through all stages of decay.
So, is it worth your money? The answer is, if you are into interactive novel reading, then yes, it is. If you are up for placing facts together and be a detective, this game will be perfect for you and you will probably not be left disappointed, but if you are more into trigger-happy shooters with action, maybe let this one slide. Overall, it’s a great game for everyone that wants to relax and take the gameplay on an easy mode. It requires no stress and you can play as a detective figuring out what actually happened on that starship. Uncover mysteries and end this game in five completely different ways.
