For the longest time, Lego Lord of The Rings was an Editor’s Pick in the App Store so we may assume it is a quite promising game. Capturing the attention of millions, I decided to check out the game for myself and look for the excitement.
Lego Lord of The Rings can almost ride along with the console version, so it is fairly on point just shrunken down suitable for mobile level. Immerse in the story of well-known Fellowship and defend the rings from Sauron’s army while running into different obstacles. You will unlock different characters as the story unfolds and come across some comic relief.
The game controls are configured in a few options so that way you can play however you feel the most comfortable. If this is your first time playing, the game prepared a great instructional tutorial which is going to be really helpful.
Also, you will have quite a few hints through-out your gameplay so you will always know exactly what to do in a given situation. Play in an open world, travel between different locations or immerse into adventure around the world while collecting items and bonuses. You can also find the Character Creator which Lego finally brought back from the Star Wars games so you can easily create whichever hero comes up to your mind.
The game costs $4.99 which is quite a reasonable price, but it comes with in-app purchase if you decide you want to go for some characters packs, which is a little disappointing. By buying your characters it completely defeats the purpose of trying really hard to earn them in the game by collecting items and bonuses.
The controls have flaps to them also, for example if you want to perform a jump-slam move, you have to draw a circle around your characters to indicate to perform that move and if you fail to do it in a certain amount of time, you will trick the game into thinking you want your character to run in a circle.
The Character Creator can come across as confusing, since you can’t preview features once you picked them out before buying. With no sidebar option for taking a peek of your new character that you are developing, where is the fun in that?
If we don’t pay attention to those minor errors, this Lego Lord of The Rings game can be quite a delight once you give it a try. If you are a fan of Lego games and LOTR, you must give this one a go since the price is super convenient and even without spending anything on in-app purchases, you can still have endless fun playing the game if you feel like it is in your lane of genre.
While Character Creator can be at times frustrating, you can focus on a real gameplay and immerse in a world to help Frodo and his friends keep those rings safe and sound.
