The adorable Minecraft is the best selling game of all time, as Microsoft has just announced. Yes, you heard right. The lovely game everybody loves is officially the best selling game in terms of units-sold (which means no profit made or other criteria).
176 Million Copies Sold
Tetris was holding the number one position with 170 million copies sold. Minecraft has sold 176 million copies and those 6 million were enough to take over the first place.
Well, it needs to be said that the relevant data regarding number of Tetris’ copies sold is from 2014. There is no fresh data. Nevertheless, Minecraft is officially the best selling game.
Constantly Upgrading
One of the reasons of such a great achievement is that Minecraft is constantly growing and upgrading. It is hugely popular game with as we can see million copies sold, but they are always upgrading and expanding across different platforms.
The recent news is that Minecraft Earth, as a new AR mobile game, is going to be released. It will be similar to Pokemon Go meaning that a player will use different kinds of things from real-life surroundings for building. We must give credit to Minecraft for this.
